Love your life

I took this picture at the University of Mindanao campus.

The moment I driven going to the University a gleam glanced to my eyes that caught my awareness to  gazed the sky.

After parked at the University parking area, I sat beside the small tree to capture the beautifulness of His creations. The sun was made to give light to the world, but sometimes we forget to appreciate on how beautiful it is.

As I looked at the sunset, I realized that our life is like a sunset. We’re born like the sun rise and we’ll die like the sun goes down.

Love your life. We are unusual made by God.

Is there one true religion? Is there one true religion?

The bible prophesied that there would come a time when there would be many different churches which would go under the banner of Christianity. Nowadays the prophecy are fulfilled, there is a lot of religion raising their churches in the whole world.

There is a true religions in this world and there is also a harlot churches on what the bible says “And upon her forehead was the name written, Mystery Babylon the Great, The Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth". Rev. 17:5

First, the true religion believes in one ever living and eternal God; infinite in power, Holy in nature, attributes and purpose; and possessing absolute, indivisible deity. From the "dark ages" of Christendom, brought about by the theories and ideas of men, utter confusion has been left in the minds of people concerning the truth about one God. Without the knowledge of the truth, which only comes to an honest heart by divine revelation, many have misunderstand the manifestations of God, and have tried to form three Persons or Deities.

Ephesians 4:6 says “One God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in all”. And, keeps and teaching his commandments in Exodus chapter 20 verses 3. “Thou shall have no other gods before me”. 4.“ Thou shall not make unto thee a graven image, nor any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth”. 5.“ Thou shall not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them, for I Jehovah thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, upon the third and upon the fourth generation of them that hate me".

Isaiah 45:18 says “For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made I am the Lord; and there is none else.” Even the devils believed that there is one God. James 2:19 says “Thou believes that there is one God; thou doest well; the devils also believe, and tremble”.

The three persons of the Godhead are, at the same time, noted in such Scriptures as Isaiah 48:16: “I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; From the time that it was, there am I; and now the Lord God, and his Spirit, hath sent me.” The speaker in this verse is obviously God, and yet He says He has been sent both by The Lord God (that is, the Father) and by His Spirit (that is, the Holy Spirit).

Honest hearts, receive the truth there is only one Supreme Being: the eternal and infinite Spirit, Creator and Sovereign of the universe, and Savior of man. God said, "Before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I even I am the Lord; and beside me there is no Savior."

Second, the true religion believes in baptism of water. The Scripture mode of baptism is immersion, and is only for those who have fully repented, having turned from their sins and a love of the world. A general definition for the word baptism is “a rite of washing with water as a sign of religious purification and consecration.” This rite was practiced frequently in the Old Testament. It signified purity or cleansing from sin and devotion to God. It should be administered by a duly authorized minister of the Gospel, in obedience to the Word of God, and in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, according to Acts of the Apostles. Acts 2:38 says “And Peter said unto them, Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit”. Matthew 28:19 says “Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”.

John the Baptist preached a baptism for the forgiveness of sins and in so doing he was preparing the way for the Lord. Jesus came to the Jordan River where he was baptized by John at a site traditionally known as Qasr al-Yahud (the Jews' Castle). The Baptism of Jesus marks the beginning of Jesus Christ's public ministry. Jesus Christ was baptized in the river, a river that plenty of water that the whole body will immerse completely. Noted, Jesus Christ baptized with plenty of water not a sprinkle of water.

Water Baptism is an act of obedience for the believer. It should be preceded by repentance, which simply means “change.” It is turning from our sin and selfishness to serve the Lord. It means placing our pride, our past and all of our possessions before the Lord. It is giving the control of our lives over to Him.

Third, the true religion believes in baptism of spirit (Holy Ghost). After the baptism of water, to complete the remission of sin you need receive the gift of Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38 says “And Peter said unto them, Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit”. Matthew 3:11 says “I indeed baptize you in water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you in the Holy Spirit and in fire”.

The evidence of the Holy Ghost baptism is speaking in tongues. Acts 2:4 says “And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance”. Speaking in tongues speaks not to men, but to God; and the one who speaks in tongues edifies himself (1 Corinthians 14:2&4). And again in Romans 8:26, "And in the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groaning too deep for words."

Acts 1:4-5, "And gathering them together, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father had promised, ‘Which,' He said, ‘you heard of from Me; for John baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” In these verses, Jesus commands His disciples not to leave Jerusalem, but wait for the Holy Spirit.

Why did the disciples have to wait for the Holy Spirit? We find the answer in Acts 1:8 “But ye shall receive power, when the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea and Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth”.

The terms baptize with the Holy Ghost and fire, it is filled with the Holy Spirit and the gift of the Holy Ghost, which are synonymous terms used interchangeably in the Bible. ‘It is scriptural to expect all who receive the gift, filling or baptism of the Holy Spirit, to receive the same physical, initial sign of speaking with other tongues.
Lastly, In the Bible God’s true church is symbolized as a virgin bride. A false church is also symbolized as a woman, but the woman is a harlot. The bible prophesied that there would be many false "Christian" churches-the Mother harlot and all of her daughter harlots. Their relationship is cemented by their common baptism. As the dark cloud of ecumenism closes in on the world, there are many honest-hearted and sincere individuals in these false churches that God would like to save. The Word of God rings out, "Come out of her, my people that ye by not partakers of her sins, and they receive not of her plagues" (Rev. 18:4).

The basic and fundamental doctrine of the true religion shall be the Bible standard of full salvation, which is repentance, baptism in water by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the initial sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. We should always know that we should able to have communion with our Creator and to experience His presence within. But this deep intuition of the Holy Spirit has been corrupted into various forms of false mysticism and fanaticism, and even into spiritism and demonism. We should put into our minds that, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believed in him should not perish but have everlasting life “John 3:16”.

Does parental tough love really work?

Child parenting would be simple since we have all been children ourselves and have experienced the parenting styles of our own parents and those of other family members and friends with kids while growing up. But it’s up to the new parents if they want to inherit the way on how they have been disciplined.

The essence of the tough love parenting style is to hold your ground and guide your teenager in a way that compels him or her to take responsibility for his actions and make changes in behavior.

Does parental tough love really work? Based on my experienced I say YES. But if anybody can ask me if I do this parenting method to my kids, my answer is a big NO! Why? Because this way of parenting method will create hatred mind to the child toward his/her parents and sometimes may results to anger and bad behaviors of a child. Tough love parenting is applicable if the behavior of a child constituted out-of-control. Out-of-control behavior encompasses acts like outright defiance, self-harming behaviors like drug abuse, blatant dishonesty and criminal behavior.

Rebellion and disobedience are just as pervasive today as parental authority disintegrates. Today, parents must choose who and what shapes their children lives. Without a doubt, God still holds parents responsible for their children - to instruct them and to discipline them.

Most parents’ think of parenting in terms of what they must do to raise a child, parenting is also a gift you give yourself. In the past, children grew up in a society that clearly defined what was right and what was wrong. Parents were recognized as the primary authority figure in their children lives. Now as the world conforms, our children react to the unprecedented immorality, anti-family, and anti-parent concepts in schools and media.

Successful parenting is not an accident, but the result of having a parenting plan and a dedication to your children. One father defined the process of raising children: “You may always enjoy being a parent, but not always enjoy parenting.” Parents are quick to share the challenges of trying to cultivate good character traits in their offspring. Every parent wants of develop certain character traits -- respect, confidence, and unselfishness. How can parents generate compassion and consideration in their children?

Children need to know that they are valued. The Bible says children are a gift: “Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him” (Psalm 127:3). Of course a parent might not consider times of disciplining “a rewarding experience”! Yet, even God disciplines those that He dearly values (Hebrews 12:6). When a child discovers they can make a difference in another person’s life, they realize they are of value as an individual. By allowing your child to help you, sort laundry, rake leaves, or get your sweater for you, you are telling that small child, “Hey, you are a valuable part of this family. We couldn’t get along without you.” Parents must never take these young lives for granted, but regard them with high priority. A valued child learns respect, confidence, and unselfishness as they contribute to the family’s well-being.

Francis Bacon [1561-1626] understood the primary source of a child’s learning. “Parents, who wish to train up their children in the way they should go, must go in the way in which they would have their children go.” A child doesn’t have to look far outside their home to find examples of cruelty or disrespect. A simple family activity can often counteract those negative influences. Children must be given opportunities to practice compassion towards others.

Children by nature want to receive attention and approval, so they will exercise what they have learned from their parents. Children must choose their own acts of kindness. When a child or even a parent responds unselfishly, the impact is significant.

Teaching children about respect and consideration can occur even if we’ve failed in our parenting plan. Your child misbehaves and you snap responding with tense anger. What can be done when you’ve done something wrong? Apologize. Imagine your child’s reaction when you say, “I’m sorry. I didn’t think about what I said or did. How do you feel?” On those occasions, parents teach respect and humility to their children.

We all make a mistake, but an apology gives us an opportunity to teach our children about extending forgiveness. Perhaps you think you’ve made too many mistakes in life. Imagine God’s reaction when we say, “I’m sorry for what I said or did.” How do you think He feels? “If we say that we have no sin, that a big mistakes, we are only fooling ourselves and refusing to accept the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong” (1 John 1:8-9). God is ever-watchful and responds to our needs. As children of God, our Heavenly Father values us.

When we instruct our children, we are not simply presenting a list of rules to follow. We are letting our actions speak by training them according to God's standards. By living a righteous life, parents provide their children with the understanding of how God's rules govern all our lives. Then, as our children mature, they develop a habit of doing right, serving God by making their own decisions.

It is the goal of every parent to see their children accept responsibility for their decisions. If our children learn from their mistakes and accept godly correction, then we are on the right course. One father tried to take a short-cut in explaining responsibility by saying, "It's not what you do, but whether or not you get caught. And if you get caught, be willing to pay the consequences!" Obviously, there's no fast-track for instructing children. Parental instruction is a difficult journey that begins at birth and continues for many years. And there may be countless times when our children make careless decisions and even choose to reject instruction. These are the times when discipline is most necessary.

Lastly, Jesus Christ values us so much that He sent His only Son Jesus to die on the cross for our sin. Even when we were guilty and deserved death, God provided a way that we can have forgiveness of sin and live with Him in heaven for eternity. He rose from death and now offers us the gift of eternal life. What a joy it is to share this message with our children, for they too can accept Jesus’ gift of forgiveness.

Fighting Poverty

The Philippines was the first Asian colony to declare independence when the struggle for freedom against the waning tide of colonialism was sweeping the globe. After world war II we were only second to Japan in economic and industrial growth and yet today we are among the last in the East Asian region.

By 1997, we were already well on the way to becoming a tiger economy but our choice of incompetent leadership ruined the enormous gains that we had achieved. We were the least affected by the 1997 Asian financial crisis-have now surpassed our recovery by leaps and bounds. We ousted a very popular president for abuse of power and corruption. We spent billions of pesos for a computerized voting system to eliminate electoral fraud. But millions of voters were instantaneously disenfranchised through the automation of the election process like jumping from the frying pan into the fire.

In 2009 a national tragedy struck causing numerous deaths and extensive damage to property from severe flooding of Metro Manila. The Philippines sits on the path of typhoons, 20 of which, on average, hit the country every year. That would be more than enough reason to continually improve our preparedness for calamities. And yet we still keep on  experiencing  preventable, costly, and tragic casualties and losses.

Rice is our staple crop. Every new administration always vows to achieve rice sufficiency. And yet we continue to be heavily dependent on rice imported from our Asian neighbors. Because of the severe and seemingly permanent shortage of jobs, many Filipinos have been forced to seek employment in other countries. Their yearly remittances, which reached $17 billion in 2009, have long been the country’s Insurance against financial collapse. And yet, the government almost always fails to help them when they are exploited or violated by their employers.

Today the population stands at an alarming 100 million, with the poverty incidence rising, draining our resources, depriving our people of much-needed basic services, and further heightening their sufferings. But the government has not been able to set up an effective program to check the rapid population growth.
While the other people live in appropriate and extravagance life, there’s a lot of people are suffered for starvation, left on the street, with ruined health and unfeasible for education.

What is the root cause why it was happened many years ago and until now? They say improper governance and rapid population growth. This is a reality alarming situation in our country; we are facing a wrong and corrupt government and the rapid growth of population.

Nowadays, President PNoy addresses the problem of the government governance; he imposed many rules, cost cutting and other ways on how the country will move out from poverty.

The bible says “go to the world and multiply,” It doesn’t mean that we need to multiply without limitation. It’s not practical that the children will compromise from poverty or to ruin their life. The bible says “Jesus love the little children,” children is the most affected from poverty. There’s no need to debate. It means population control is acceptable by God’s law.

To overcome the problem we need to impose and practice the limitation of child in every family’s.The government can’t do it alone. The church must help, as part of its prophetic ministry, and the community too.

I strongly believe that, with the help of the, NGO’s, government, churches, and the community, the poverty will be eradicated and the next generation of children will know this problem just as a history.
