The bible prophesied that there would come a time when there would be many different churches which would go under the banner of Christianity. Nowadays the prophecy are fulfilled, there is a lot of religion raising their churches in the whole world.
There is a true religions in this world and there is also a harlot churches on what the bible says “And upon her forehead was the name written, Mystery Babylon the Great, The Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth". Rev. 17:5
First, the true religion believes in one ever living and eternal God; infinite in power, Holy in nature, attributes and purpose; and possessing absolute, indivisible deity. From the "dark ages" of Christendom, brought about by the theories and ideas of men, utter confusion has been left in the minds of people concerning the truth about one God. Without the knowledge of the truth, which only comes to an honest heart by divine revelation, many have misunderstand the manifestations of God, and have tried to form three Persons or Deities.
Ephesians 4:6 says “One God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in all”. And, keeps and teaching his commandments in Exodus chapter 20 verses 3. “Thou shall have no other gods before me”. 4.“ Thou shall not make unto thee a graven image, nor any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth”. 5.“ Thou shall not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them, for I Jehovah thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, upon the third and upon the fourth generation of them that hate me".
Isaiah 45:18 says “For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made I am the Lord; and there is none else.” Even the devils believed that there is one God. James 2:19 says “Thou believes that there is one God; thou doest well; the devils also believe, and tremble”.
The three persons of the Godhead are, at the same time, noted in such Scriptures as Isaiah 48:16: “I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; From the time that it was, there am I; and now the Lord God, and his Spirit, hath sent me.” The speaker in this verse is obviously God, and yet He says He has been sent both by The Lord God (that is, the Father) and by His Spirit (that is, the Holy Spirit).
Honest hearts, receive the truth there is only one Supreme Being: the eternal and infinite Spirit, Creator and Sovereign of the universe, and Savior of man. God said, "Before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I even I am the Lord; and beside me there is no Savior."
Second, the true religion believes in baptism of water. The Scripture mode of baptism is immersion, and is only for those who have fully repented, having turned from their sins and a love of the world. A general definition for the word baptism is “a rite of washing with water as a sign of religious purification and consecration.” This rite was practiced frequently in the Old Testament. It signified purity or cleansing from sin and devotion to God. It should be administered by a duly authorized minister of the Gospel, in obedience to the Word of God, and in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, according to Acts of the Apostles. Acts 2:38 says “And Peter said unto them, Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit”. Matthew 28:19 says “Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”.
John the Baptist preached a baptism for the forgiveness of sins and in so doing he was preparing the way for the Lord. Jesus came to the Jordan River where he was baptized by John at a site traditionally known as Qasr al-Yahud (the Jews' Castle). The Baptism of Jesus marks the beginning of Jesus Christ's public ministry. Jesus Christ was baptized in the river, a river that plenty of water that the whole body will immerse completely. Noted, Jesus Christ baptized with plenty of water not a sprinkle of water.
Water Baptism is an act of obedience for the believer. It should be preceded by repentance, which simply means “change.” It is turning from our sin and selfishness to serve the Lord. It means placing our pride, our past and all of our possessions before the Lord. It is giving the control of our lives over to Him.
Third, the true religion believes in baptism of spirit (Holy Ghost). After the baptism of water, to complete the remission of sin you need receive the gift of Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38 says “And Peter said unto them, Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit”. Matthew 3:11 says “I indeed baptize you in water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you in the Holy Spirit and in fire”.
The evidence of the Holy Ghost baptism is speaking in tongues. Acts 2:4 says “And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance”. Speaking in tongues speaks not to men, but to God; and the one who speaks in tongues edifies himself (1 Corinthians 14:2&4). And again in Romans 8:26, "And in the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groaning too deep for words."
Acts 1:4-5, "And gathering them together, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father had promised, ‘Which,' He said, ‘you heard of from Me; for John baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” In these verses, Jesus commands His disciples not to leave Jerusalem, but wait for the Holy Spirit.
Why did the disciples have to wait for the Holy Spirit? We find the answer in Acts 1:8 “But ye shall receive power, when the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea and Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth”.
The terms baptize with the Holy Ghost and fire, it is filled with the Holy Spirit and the gift of the Holy Ghost, which are synonymous terms used interchangeably in the Bible. ‘It is scriptural to expect all who receive the gift, filling or baptism of the Holy Spirit, to receive the same physical, initial sign of speaking with other tongues.
Lastly, In the Bible God’s true church is symbolized as a virgin bride. A false church is also symbolized as a woman, but the woman is a harlot. The bible prophesied that there would be many false "Christian" churches-the Mother harlot and all of her daughter harlots. Their relationship is cemented by their common baptism. As the dark cloud of ecumenism closes in on the world, there are many honest-hearted and sincere individuals in these false churches that God would like to save. The Word of God rings out, "Come out of her, my people that ye by not partakers of her sins, and they receive not of her plagues" (Rev. 18:4).
The basic and fundamental doctrine of the true religion shall be the Bible standard of full salvation, which is repentance, baptism in water by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the initial sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. We should always know that we should able to have communion with our Creator and to experience His presence within. But this deep intuition of the Holy Spirit has been corrupted into various forms of false mysticism and fanaticism, and even into spiritism and demonism. We should put into our minds that, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believed in him should not perish but have everlasting life “John 3:16”.
